Privacy Policy

What we collect

Not much. LocalSalaryHub is a lookup tool — you come, you search, you leave. Here's the full list of what we touch:

• Email address — only if you give it to us, and only to send a salary report or salary alerts you asked for.
• Search queries — processed in real time to show results. We don't store them tied to you.
• Usage patterns — Google Analytics gives us aggregate numbers: which pages get traffic, how long people stay, which features get used. No names, no profiles.

What we do with it

• Send the salary report you requested
• Send salary alerts you subscribed to (with an unsubscribe link in every email)
• Understand which parts of the site people actually use, so we can improve them
• Show ads via Google AdSense — that's how we keep the site free

We don't sell your email. We don't rent it. We don't share it with marketers.

Ads & tracking

We run Google AdSense. Google's ad system uses cookies to figure out what ads might be relevant to you. If that bothers you, you have options:

• Click “Non-personalized only” in our cookie banner — ads will still appear, but Google won't use your browsing history to pick them.
• Click “Decline” — no ad cookies at all. You'll see the site without ads.
• Visit Google Ads Settings to manage this across all sites.

Google Analytics

GA4 tells us things like “the Austin page got 2,000 visits this month” or “people mostly use the calculator on the Seattle page.” That's it. If you picked “Non-personalized only,” we tell GA to turn off personalized signals (allow_google_signals: false).

You can also install the GA opt-out browser add-on if you want to block it entirely.

Cookies we set

• lsh_cookie_consent — remembers whether you accepted, declined, or chose non-personalized ads. That's it.
• Google Analytics — _ga, _ga_* cookies (2-year expiry, anonymous aggregate data)
• Google AdSense — __gads, __gpi cookies (ad serving)

None of these track you across unrelated sites or do anything beyond what's described above.

Data storage

Email addresses live in Cloudflare D1, a managed database. They're not publicly accessible. We take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, but no system is perfect — if you'd rather not hand over your email, the site works fine without it.

Your rights

You can:

• Ask us to delete your email from our records
• Unsubscribe from any email — every message has a one-click link
• Block cookies in your browser
• Choose non-personalized ads via our consent banner

If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have a few extra rights:

• Legal basis: We process your email because you gave consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Analytics runs on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Portability: Ask for a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: You can object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time.
• Restriction: You can ask us to limit how we process your data.
• Complaint: You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Google Analytics and AdSense may transfer data outside the EEA. Google uses Standard Contractual Clauses to cover that.

If you're in California (CCPA)

California residents get specific rights under the CCPA:

• Know: Ask what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with.
• Delete: Ask us to delete your personal info (limited exceptions apply).
• Opt out of sale: We don't sell your personal information. Period.
• Non-discrimination: We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Send CCPA requests to privacy@localsalaryhub.com. We respond within 45 days.

Kids

This site isn't for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from kids. If that happens by accident, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

Changes

We might update this page occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version. If something major changes, we'll note it here.
